Since 2019, Immaculate Heart of Mary School has honored someone special in our community who has given their time, their service, their dedication, and their love to the entire IHM community. This person is someone who works hard and does not ask for anything in return; someone whose efforts make our school a better place. In 1973, a young woman embarked on a beautiful journey to instill the love of faith and learning into countless students. Over her 48 years, this remarkable teacher has touched the lives of all who entered her classroom. She retired from teaching 3rd grade here at IHM in 2021, but she still continues to grace us with her presence whether it be subbing, working CARES, Summer camp, or whatever else is asked of her. Please join us in showing our appreciation for the 2023 Friend of IHM, Mrs. Christine Salley. Mrs. Salley was honored during our Catholic Schools Week School Mass. Congratulations, Mrs. Salley!
Our next Open House for prospective IHM families will be held on Sunday, January 29, 2023. The Open House will also be open to our current school families to celebrate the kickoff to Catholic Schools Week following the 9:30 am mass. Our current school families do not need to register for an appointment.
Re-Registration is now open for the 2023/24 School Year at Immaculate Heart of Mary School! Re-Registration for the 2023/24 school year closes on Friday, January 20, 2023. Last week, the AoP Tech team honored eighty-eight elementary and high school educators, administrators and central office team members as “AoP EdTech Influencers,” “AoP EdTech Digital Ambassadors,” and “AoP EdTech Social Media Ambassadors” during the week of October 18-October 22, 2021. The recognition took place in celebration of National Digital Citizenship Week and marked the third year for the AoP EdTech Influencer and Ambassador awards. The following IHM teachers have been recognized as 2021 EdTech Digital Ambassadors: Mrs. Lauren Kemm (Kindergarten); Miss Bridget Foley (5th Grade); Miss Ashley Kapuscinski (Middle School ELA and Religion); Mrs. Stacey MacDonald (Middle School Social Studies); and Mrs. Elizabeth Donahue (Middle School Math). We are so proud of you! Our IHM teachers are the best!
IHM was recently honored with this award because 90% of our amazing students met or exceeded expectations in all content areas on all levels in TerraNova testing. The Archdiocese of Philadelphia used two specific criteria in determining the schools who were to be recognized for this distinction: Growth and Exceeding Potential. IHM was one of only 12 schools in the entire Archdiocese of Philadelphia who earned “exceeding potential”!!! We are so proud of this accomplishment achieved in the midst of the pandemic. This is proof of all of the amazing things happening in the halls of IHM daily! Thank you to all of our teachers, administrators, parents and most importantly, our IHM students, for the efforts made to accomplish this academic landmark.
